• Gum Rosin, derived from oleo pine resin, remains as the in-volatile residue after turpentine distillation, presenting as a brittle, transparent, glassy solid. It's insoluble in water but soluble in various organic solvents, graded by color where paler shades indicate superior quality. Other chemical characteristics, largely determined by the pine species, further influence its quality.
